For those of us without a digital camera, who develops your photos and how trustworthy are the developers? I've been taking mine to a local drugstore. A female technician gave my telephone number to some male who called me and made what might be considered by some a threatening comment. I had told the woman that the film contained nude photos and asked her if that was OK. She did not say no, had she, I would have made other arrangements. I returned and told her I felt (oops, no double meaning) she had been wrong.
What are your experiences? |

Jim,
I have never had a problem with using the film services at the local grocery store.
Naturally, they don't develop it there; it gets sent off to some subsidiary of the Great Yellow Film God (Kodak). Most of the processes are automated these days, so no one's looking, I guess. If they are, they are not saying anything.
I use a digital for most of my stuff nowadays. The film camera comes out when I have evidence of a good shot with the digital, and want a better one. (As good as the digitals have been getting, nothing yet matches film for quality.) When it does, I will semi-retire an old friend. (it's still fun to mess with film.)

I've been taking the film to a so-called one hour photo developing drug store. I've watched them and they do monitor the processes and see something. In the past I've informed the developers that the photos are nude, most seem not to care.
I did choose a drug store whose developing equipment is not viewable by passerbys, many drug stores do expose the processes to passerbys. I'll admit the fact that all four developers who develop/enlarge my films are female was also a deciding factor. Naughty boy!

Just remember that if you give a copy of yourself naked to someone, even if it is on a roll of film and it is only temporary, there is always the chance a copy can be made without your knowledge. So as long as you are comfortable with the possiblity that your pictures may pop up anywhere and you being recognizable in them wearing nothing but a smile then go for it. Otherwise invest in a digital camera. |

Dim wit, that would be me, didn't think of the possibility of search engines making photos universally viewable. I did some searches yesterday and sure enough there I was in all my glory. Course, one must know the user ID. Good reason for most to never use a real, full name.
I do not fully understand but it seems some sites are 'cloaked' and some not. Cloaked sites block search engines through layering. |

I'd never take any nude photos to be developed, because I wouldn't trust anyone to develop it, and I wouldn't want any problems from it. I never took nude pictures until I got a digital camera. Digital camera is the only way to go, unless you've got a dark room and know how to develop pictures yourself. |

Also remember that after you have had film developed or even digital pictures taken be careful where you store them. I heard of one couple who took some very explicit pictures and burned them to CD. Thier son was looking for a blank CD to have a friend burn some songs to for him. It turns out the CD was not blank and the friend made copies and distributed them everyone. The last I heard the couple and son moved because it was a smaller town they lived in and couldn't handle the "EXPOSURE" they had recieved.
So remember to lockup the pictures, negatives, film, cd's, etc to keep them out of the hands of people you don't want to see them. This could be kids, landlords, visiting relatives or burglars. |

For now I will continue to take the film to the same place - nearby drugstore - for development. Five on the staff, all female, know what I am doing and all exhibit behavoir toward me that is within my comfort zone, save one, whom I avoid. The woman who almost always develops the film is downright friendly and a downhome type.
They all know my name, but I will never again give them my phone number.
I've gone to WalMart twice and have not found anything near a $40 dollar digital camera with delayed shutter release. |

I use to do this at home as you can buy all that is needed at a good camera store or on the net ..take you film out in a closet after your eyes are ajusted ..use a small red light...place your film in the container ...process the chemicals take out and hang to dry. Search developing film on net should be no problem. |

Thought about this too. For the time being I am content to drop the film off at the local drugstore. We all seem to be comfortable with each other. Thanks all.

Unfortunately all my photos are solo, can't get any female including my wife to indulge in outdoor nudity. Sigh. Enjoy your nudity. Do you use a film camera and have the photos developed at a retail store? At first I was relucant to leave the film at a retail store. As it stands now, most of the staff (all female) know about my nudist escapades and for the most part are friendly with me and even ask me about my nude hikes.
Recently I had reprints made, the woman who did it laid out the prints face up on the counter to ensure she had done the job right in full view of another customer. Oh well. |

If I remember right I have seen in UK naturist magazines specialist film developers/printers who will --------ly take your naturist films, perhaps there are also commercial speialists around the world.

`Years ago I was working at a local set of retail drugstores (part of a national chain) and often the photo lab guys would show employees photos that were questionable.. One older guy was always bringing in nude photos of women modeling in poses on or around his "Harley Davidson" motorcycle.
The reason I knew about these was they had to get a member of management involved if there were any photos where two people of same or opposite S-- were engaging in a s----l act or making contact with their own or the other person's genitals. And yes there are people who do drop off those type of photos to be developed.
My biggest question was they were always given their negatives back, just none of the questionable photos. But with the negatives, I am sure there were other labs they could then use to develop the photos.

`I use a digital camera now, but when I used my trusty 35mm I just had the pics made as slides. Then I bought a slide projector and screen. Worked best for me. skinny
