Hi,
Maybe someone can help me with a decision I've been trying to make for a while. I've been contemplating on going to Gunnison Beach in Sandy Hook, NJ, for a day. The reason is because I prefer the resort so much over the beach. You get more out of your day by not having to leave the resort in the evening like the beach, you don't have to show up early in the morning, etc... However, I was only at Gunnison once and that was only for about 20/30 minutes. Long story short, me and my friends went to Sandy Hook for a day trip. We went to the north beach and during the time there, I told them I was going for a walk off the beach. I didn't wanna tell them I was going to a nude beach. They even had no clue they were on the same peninsula as a nude beach. That's why I was there was so short b/c I couldn't keep them worried where I was. Anyway, my point is do you think I should go to Gunnison and spend like at least a couple hours there? In other words, did spending a short amount of time like that even count as actually going one time?? Just an fyi, I only go these places like once or twice a summer because of my schedule, finances, personal life security, etc... So it's not like I can get away like every weekend.

`I don't know if I can help you, since I'm pretty much the opposite. I like the nude beaches because generally you don't have to pay to get in, and (in my opinion) there is more interesting activity going on. If you are into suntanning, that can be done equally well on a beach or at a resort; but I find swimming in the ocean or a bay -- provided the wave action is not too rough -- much more enjoyable than a chlorinated pool, and my skin also feels better after salt water than after chlorinated water. Also, except for unusually large resorts like Oaklake Trails in Oklahoma, with enough acreage for actual hiking trails, most resorts actually have very little room to walk around in nature compared to beaches. This is also the reason I go out to remote parts of the National Forests, away from the regular recreation areas; most people c----er around the established campgrounds, popular trails, and day-use areas, which means that away from these areas, I can go nude almost all day without worry.

But then, I am a day person, so leaving in the evening doesn't bother me. I actually don't know what fun things you are doing at the resort after dark. I may be at a disadvantage there because socializing with people I don't know well is more of a chore than a good time.

`I have been to both Resorts and Beaches. Frankly I get bored at the beach after an hour or so. And I also get burned if I stay too long. Resorts are better for me because there are more things to do: hot tubs, pool bars , restaurants, bars as well as a pool. However for the experience I suggest you do an hour or so at a nude beach, just so you know. I have gotten into hiking mountain trails in the nude but I think I prefer the social aspect of resorts and hot springs.

I enjoy resorts as they have rooms, pools, and food. Resorts with beaches are a plus too.
